Great projects are possible with great clients, no matter size and purpose.
Mr.Y (and his family) not only participated actively to the holistic design process. Indeed, he played an active front role in the construction and procurement.
The pavilion was designed to properly fit into the property boundary and adapt to the environmental conditions. The timber structure was cladded in dark metal and the composite façade was developed to cope to shading and security purposes. The modular glazing curtain wall is inspired by the Japanese tatami system, which reflects the flexibility and adaptability of the floor plate, defining coherency in plan and elevation.
Y’s pavilion is an extension of an English free hold property in the north side of London, designed to be an office, playroom and versatile space to be used depending on the circumstances.
