ITALIAN PAVILION – EXPO 2025
PROCESS
The concept was conceived and set up in such a way to configure an exhibition project that showcases the art of “Italian living” in all its vastness, variety and richness, highlighting the harmonious coexistence and interdependence between man, nature and technology. The Pavilion represents “thinking about the future” theme and outlines the great art history of the Country, by celebrating the immense heritage of craftsmanship that characterizes Italy today.
The distribution aims to stimulate and enhance the public’s experience, enriching their knowledge.
“There is no knowledge without experience” (Leonardo Da Vinci). .
The experience will adapt to the vision, characteristics and architectural qualities of the structure, starting from the skin of the Pavilion, which will be made of ceramic tiles. Taking inspiration from the ceramic investments which in the 20th century saw artists such as Gio Ponti reinterpret the enchanting taste of oriental arts and used irregular ceramic tiles to cover various architectures, we decided to decorate the external façade of the building using precisely this original compositional technique. A decorative light-breaking element, made up of countless ceramic tiles shaped with letters that will form various words on the walls of the Pavilion. The public, approaching the structure, will be attracted by a radiant play of lights, but not only.
The Pavilion will be in fact surrounded by a lush Italian garden: a green spot, synthesis of the concept of countryside: a garden outside the city.
