The proposed approach is projected towards the Rome of the future, giving space to the new micro mobility, destined to replace the noise and pollution of thermal engines: the district of Rome Termini and Piazza dei Cinquecento will become the prototype created to represent the district of the future.

 

We are witnessing a new energy revolution.

 

The car industries are developing new solutions that will revolutionize the next century: electric motors will drastically reduce pollution, air quality will improve and noise will significantly decrease. We are also witnessing a big change  linked to artificial intelligence, which will modify the urban structure, starting from the shape of the city up to the way of design public and private spaces.

60% of walking trips in Rome are estimated within a radius of one kilometre, above which innovative public transport and alternative mobility will be positioned to cover a larger radius, such as electric bicycles, scooters and scooters, unicycles, longboard strollers, minibuses, delivery robots and drones.

 

The project is organized contemplating nature: maximizing green surfaces reduces heating, improves acoustic comfort caused by traffic and introduces the concept of biophilia.

 

Water has always been a key element of the Eternal City. The project contemplate water as an urban landmark, both in Piazza dei Cinquecento and in the areas adjacent to it, defining solutions for attenuation, transport, collection and reuse of this resource. Sustainable drainage systems, include accumulation and lamination tanks for the reuse of rainwater on site, for feeding fountains and watering gardens.

 

In a proactive vision, we intend to encourage policies for the use of alternative energy, using the roofs of Termini station and the surrounding buildings as solar energy accumulators, thermal masses for garden roofs, reducing the albedo.
